What would you do if …

Scenario 1

Nalu, the most popular junior at your school, broke up with his senior girlfriend mid‑basketball season. A few weeks later, he started dating Nicki, a Filipina sophomore considered one of the prettiest girls in school. He showered her with attention, asked her to prom, and she was thrilled to say yes.

Three weeks before prom, while hanging out with his friends, Nalu bragged about a cruel plan: after prom he wants to take Nicki to a hotel room, pressure her into being intimate, secretly record it, and then humiliate her by telling her “He just wanted to hit it.” He even talked about showing the video to friends later and making sure she’s embarrassed at school.

For the girls: A trusted male friend told you everything, but he’s too scared to speak up. You’ve also heard that Nicki’s best friends are pressuring her to “go for it” so she doesn’t lose Nalu.

For the guys: You were at the party when Nalu revealed his plan.

    Scenario 2

A tight group of Japanese students from wealthy families have been stealing answer sheets for major exams. They sell the answers to classmates for cash, and everyone knows they’re making serious money.

Some teachers and administrators strongly suspect what’s happening, but they look the other way because the students’ parents are powerful and influential. The cheaters keep their grades high, their reputations polished, and their social status untouchable.

For the girls: A friend confides in you that she bought answers and now feels trapped—if she speaks up, she’ll be exposed too.

For the guys: You’ve been offered the chance to buy answers before finals.

      Scenario 3

A junior boy from the youth group started bringing a new friend to Friday nights and events. The new guy was Kapolei High’s varsity soccer captain, a kid who looked like he’d walked straight out of a magazine ad and knew exactly the effect he had on people.

Later it became clear: while chasing the attention of one of the most popular girls, he was also quietly preying on a more insecure girl, coercing her to get very physical. When she asked to make it official he told her, “You’re not girlfriend material,” cruel words meant to keep her in her place while he kept using her.

For the girls and boys: She confided what was happening to her sister in what she thought was a private conversation at church, but you and a friend overheard.

      What would you do?

      Scenario 4

Engineers developed an application that can capture and record people’s internal thoughts (conversation/monologue - audio) and the visuals of the imagination (daydreams/fantasy - video) and produce movie files of the secret thought lives of anyone; and hackers have stolen this technology.

A hacker phones and informs you that they’ve recorded your mind for the past two weeks; and provided you a sample video that was perfect. They said they want money, or they will release your data to select individuals. You agree to meet and discuss terms and conditions.

The hacker you meet is actually very polite and considerate. The first term the hacker offers is to let you choose one person that under no circumstances will they ever give your data to. A second term is that they are going to provide your Youth Worker a copy. However, the hacker agrees to let you delete all items from the copy they will send me that you would prefer I not see, for a price.

For the girls and boys: Who is the one person you would select that they would never send a copy to -- and why?

Is there a person, or people that you would like to receive a copy so that they could actually experience how you truly think of and feel about them? If so, who & why?

How much would you pay for them to only send me a fully edited copy?

And how much would you pay for them to not send anyone anything and give you their only copy?
