U.S. students can earn college credit step by step — not just through one exam. A typical student can complete a full semester of required college credits while still in high school. In-Person Course Requirement for Full Housing Allowance

• If the student takes only online courses, they’ll receive 50% of the national average MHA.
• If the student takes at least one in-person course per term, they qualify for the full MHA, based on the location of the school

A dependent fresh out of high school can use the GI Bill at these schools, but if they want the full housing stipend, they’ll need to attend at least one class physically on campus each term.
